1 2014 - It all started with a note ...

Peter, founder of the Stay Informed app and a dad himself, was fed up with the endless notes from his children's nursery. "There has to be a smarter way!" he thought - and developed the first version of the "Kita-Info-App".

2 2014 - Reinforcement from the family

Peter quickly realized that he needed support. He asked his father-in-law Lothar, who was already retired. Lothar found the adventure exciting and joined the young start-up.

3 2016 - The schools come into play

Word of its success with daycare centers spread, and schools also showed interest. Peter then developed the school info app - Stay Informed continued to grow.

4 2018 - GDPR? No problem!

Data protection suddenly took center stage and Stay Informed saw this as an opportunity. The two apps became synonymous with secure, digital communication and were more popular than ever before.

5 2020 - Corona pandemic & the digital wave

Lockdown, home office, chaos - suddenly everyone wanted to communicate digitally. The apps were more in demand than ever and became a central communication platform for daycare centers and schools.

6 2022 - New chapter

The daycare info app and school info app were combined to form the Stay Informed app. The company developed from a GbR to a GmbH just two years later - a big step forward.

7 2023 - Relocation to Freiburg

With growth came the need for more space. Stay Informed left its start-up location in Merzhausen and moved to a larger office in Freiburg - with space for more ideas and employees.

8 2024 - Focus on the future

Stay Informed celebrates its 10th anniversary and has long since outgrown its "infancy". The Stay Informed brand is expanded to include the areas of "daycare, school, school childcare and care".

9 2025 - Digital is the new normal

Stay Informed is used in over 11,000 facilities and supports over 850,000 app users in their everyday lives. A team of over 25 employees works every day to make digital communication even better, because the goal is clear: to make communication and organization in education and care easier - so that everyone has more time for the essentials.

10 2026 - part of the Little Bird Group

Stay Informed becomes part of the Little Bird Group, marking the next milestone in the company’s development. Through this strong partnership with LITTLE BIRD, KIKOM, and Kita-Planer, we combine our expertise and create new synergies – with a clear goal: to make digital communication in the education sector even more effective and future-proof.
